Eco Tourism Project in Jaffureh and Albreda village in partnership with
the Juffureh Albreda Youth Society
The Juffureh Albreda youth society (JAYS) wants to start an Ecotourism and resilience
project to help the ancient twin communities of Juffureh and Albreda become more climate-
resilient and have more sustainable jobs for the youth and women in the eco tourism
activities. These settlements are the gates to Kunta Kinteh Island a UNESCO world heritage
site. The project will make community-led ecotourism more professional, restore and
maintain important coastal habitats (especially the mangroves) and develop agriculture and
livestock projects to supply local restaurants in the sourroundings.
